This weekend’s eagerly anticipated end-of-season Devon Hockey Finals will be hosted at two venues this year.Exeter University hosts four of the five free to see finals today while last night the purpose-built hockey pitch at Plymouth Marjon University staged the women’s plate final between Plymouth’s Devonport Services and Totnes-based Dart (pictured).

Team Bath secured a thrilling 57-55 round 14 home win over Loughborough Lightning last night following a brilliant third quarter which saw the blue and golds outscore their visitors 21-11.Even though Lightning fought back 13-8 in the final quarter Bath held on for a victory which keeps them three points clear of their visitors, third in the table and level on 30 points with second placed Wasps, who visit Saracens Mavericks on Monday.

Sam Bedlow makes his first Premiership start for Bristol Bears as they bid to roar back against defending champions Saracens at Ashton Gate today (1730).The 23-year-old former Sale centre is one of five changes to the side that suffered a 26-19 defeat against Bath at Twickenham last Saturday. Bury-born Bedlow has yet to start a Prem game for Bears although has appeared as a replacement.

Jim Mallinder has named his England squad for the Under 18s Six Nations Festival being staged in Gloucestershire until Sunday April 21.The televised free-to-see festival is being hosted by England Rugby at Hartpury University and College and will feature sets of fixtures at Hartpury's Gillman’s Ground, Worcester's Sixways Stadium and Gloucester Rugby's Kingsholm - all screened live via FreeSports TV.
