The 2017-18 West Clubs Women’s Hockey League season starts today and once again Clifton Robinsons 2s will be the team to beat.
The Bristol side – whose first team are a national league premier fixture – only lost twice last season and topped the West Clubs League by four points from Team Bath Buccaneers.

Gary Owers has been appointed head coach at National League basement side Torquay United.
Martin Kuhl, 52, has been appointed assistant head coach to Owers at Plainmoor.

Exeter Chiefs new scrum half Nic White is hoping Exeter Chiefs can kick-on at Worcester on Friday after beating London Irish 37-3 on his home debut for the defending Premiership champions.
“We concentrated a lot this week on defence and I thought our defence won us the game today,” said the 27-year-old Australian international, who swapped life in France with Montpellier this summer for a new start in Devon.
