Cinderford RFC centre Rob Winchle captains Gloucestershire in tomorrow’s RFU Bill Beaumont Cup Division 1 South county championship opener against Hertfordshire at Cinderford RFC (1500).
Winchle is one of 10 Cinderford players in the home 22 including replacement Lance Randall who led Gloucestershire to the National Under 20 Championship semi-finals.

Cornwall continue their Tamar Cup defence against Devon on familiar ground for 11 of the home squad of 27 at Launceston RFC tonight (1930).
The match will have special significance for former Launceston, Bath, Sale, Plymouth Albion and England hooker Graham Dawe, 54 as it is his first match as head coach of Cornwall ahead of next month’s Bill Beaumont Cup county championship campaign. Dawe will be assisted by Cornwall U20 coach Ian Morgan.

Plymouth Argyle boss John Sheridan has set his sights on promotion from League Two next season.
Sheridan said: “I have got improve on this season and there’s only one place we can finish if we are eighth, ninth or whatever this season. We have got to finish in the top seven next season.
