The overnight arrival of frost caused a number of postponements in the men and women’s regional league hockey programmes at the weekend.
The top of the table Davis Wood Hockey League Premier One clash between leaders University of Exeter A and Firebrands fixtured to take place in Bristol was postponed and will now be rescheduled.

Devon's rising snooker star Sam Baird qualified for a ranking event venue for the first time by rallying from 3-1 down to beat world no 17 Mark Davis 5-4 in the 2012 Haikou World Open qualifiers in Sheffield.
Davis made a 137 to go 3-1 ahead but then lost four of the next five frames as 23-year-old Baird registered breaks of 63, 68, 55 and 75.

Devon snooker ace Sam Baird beat Jimmy White 5-1 in the 2012 Haikou World Open qualifiers at the Academy, Sheffield to set up a morning meeting with world no 17 Mark Davis tomorrow (1000).
Baird, 23, from Stenhill near Cullompton admitted he is looking forward to meeting Davis – from Sussex - after despatching world no 47 White with breaks of 64, 113 and 82 in today’s third qualifying round.

England have announced the January 2012 Senior and England Saxons Elite Player Squads.

Defending champions Surrey Health & Racquets top Premier Squash League group B by six points following last night's 4-1 fifth round home win over second placed Exeter Diamonds.
Exeter made a promising start in Croydon when Irish international Aisling Blake beat 16–year-old debutant Nada Elkalaawy 3-1.
