A match of fluctuating fortunes was decided when Dan Conway scampered a single off off-spinner Joe King to take Herefordshire to a target of 207.

MINOR COUNTIES Peploe rescues champions at St Austell

Defending Minor Counties champions Berkshire were indebted to Chris Peploe for digging them out of trouble against Cornwall in their Western Division round five clash at St Austell.

Berkshire are used to Peploe rescuing them with the ball but on this occasion the former Middlesex slow left-armer came to their aid with the bat, by making an aggressive run-a-ball 41.

Cumberland will face favourites Berkshire in the Minor Counties Trophy final at Wormsley on August 28 after they enjoyed very different passages through yesterday's semi-finals.

MINOR COUNTIES Bevan spins Wales to victory

Ecb LogoWales ended a three-year wait for a Minor Counties Championship victory by defeating hosts Wiltshire by 139 runs inside two days at the South Wilts club in Salisbury.

Off-spinner Tom Bevan led Wales to the landmark victory by taking five for 59 – his maiden five wicket haul in the championship – to dismiss Wiltshire for 154 in their second innings.
