IVYBRIDGE Town have lined up a series of interesting pre-season friendlies next month in preparation for the new season in the East Division of the South West Peninsula League which is scheduled to start on Saturday, August 6.The fixtures include matches against Western League Premier clubs Millbrook, Saltash United and Torpoint Athletic in addition to the annual clashes with Wendron from the West Division of the SW Peninsula League for the Leon Sargent Challenge Cup.

Gloucestershire Academy batsman Ollie Meadows played a key innings on debut for Wiltshire to help them to a three wickets win against Dorset at Marlborough College.Wiltshire were wobbling at 72 for four before Meadows (43) joined Ben Draper (50) in a fifth wicket stand of 88 which got them most of their way to a target of 195.

There may be an unfamiliar look to Berkshire’s side this season but their coach, Tom Lambert, has warned that does not mean they should be written off as they begin their defence of the National Counties Trophy today. Four key members of the squad that won eight pieces of silverware in five seasons – brothers James and Richard Morris, Stewart Davison and Chris Peploe – all retired at the end of last season but Berkshire still have a core group of players who contributed to a bulging trophy cabinet.
