South West champions Gloucestershire made a storming start to the week-long England Golf women’s county finals by beating 2017 champions Yorkshire 7½-1½ at Royal North Devon Golf Club yesterday.Today Gloucestershire – who have won the regional England Golf championship eight times in a row – face fellow big opening day winners Surrey, who beat Buckinghamshire 6½- 2½ after Staffordshire edged past Norfolk 5-4.

England - including five amateur aces from the South West - have won the 2018 Men’s Home Internationals championships in Wales.England ended Ireland's four year reign by beating them 8.5-6.5 in the title decider at Conwy Golf Club.
