Torquay United boss Gary Johnson swooped to sign Bristol City teenage forward Saikou Janneh on the eve of the Gulls' eagerly-anticipated televised FA Cup tie at Lymington Town today (1230ko).

Gambian born-Janneh, 18, joined Bristol City Academy after impressing at Bath College, Clevedon Town and Cadbury Heath.

Matt Taylor’s winning start as Exeter City manager continued as the League Two pace setters won through to the League Cup second round following a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win to knockout Championship Ipswich Town.

City central defender Troy Brown cancelled out Kayden Jackson’s 37th minute opener as the tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes at St James Park.

The 62-year-old former Cheltenham Town, Bristol City, Yeovil Town and Latvian national boss will bring a wealth of experience to the helm at Torquay.
