Bristol City Academy teenager striker Louis Britton has joined Jerry Gill's National League South side Bath City FC on loan for the remainder of the season.

Britton, 18, has just spent a successful goal-scoring loan spell at Southern League Premier South side Yate Town managed by Paul Britton.

Targetman Ryan Brunt's 112th minute winner enabled Bath City to progress to the FA Trophy first round following a thrilling third qualifying round 3-2 extra time win at Gosport Borough.

City will now host the winner of Sholing FC's rain-delayed tie against Paulton Rovers due to be played next Tuesday. Boro fought back to force extra time after first half goals from Tom Smith (27 mins) and Andy Watkins (30) put City 2-0 up on the half hour.

Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe admitted he enjoyed last night's pulsating EFL Cup tie despite a 4-2 loss to Championship side Reading at Home Park.

Lowe said: “It was good. We were quite relaxed and calm. It was a win-win situation for us as we're not going to win the cup, with all due respect.

Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe praised his side’s never-say-die spirit following a 2-2 League Two thriller in front of 11,405 against newcomers Salford City at Home Park.

Lowe said: “We will keep going until the end and that shows character because if you can’t get the win you want something from the game – and we got it.”
