Callum Taylor will find himself playing against Wales NC just 48 hours after he helped them reach the semi-finals of the National Counties Trophy for the first time in 25 years. Taylor took important wickets on his seasonal debut for Wales to help them defeat Herefordshire in Sunday’s quarter-final at Port Talbot but his team-mates will become opponents in today’s 50 overs contest against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

An outstanding all-round performance from Andy Rishton helped holders Berkshire into the last four of the National Counties Trophy with a five wickets win over Devon in the quarter-finals at scorching Sidmouth.Rishton starred first with the ball, taking one for 12 in a miserly eight over spell then returning to mop up Devon’s resistance to finish with three for 18.

Devon are boosted by the return of skipper Justin Stephens for their free to see home National Counties quarter final clash at home to holders Berkshire at Sidmouth Cricket Club today (1100). Devon are missing Somerset all-rounder Ned Leonard who took five wickets in the win over Dorset which secured Devon's top spot in Group Two qualifying.

Defending champions Berkshire extended their unbeaten run to 34 consecutive Championship matches but had to settle for a draw against Wiltshire at Corsham in Western Division One.Former England Under-19s opener Savin Perera made 121 not out, his highest Championship score, but he was overshadowed by debutant Josh Lincoln in a fourth wicket partnership of 130 in 20 overs.

Defending champions Berkshire were frustrated by rain, which delayed play in their Western Division One match against Wiltshire at Corsham until after lunch. But they then made brisk progress with Tom Nugent taking the last three Wiltshire wickets to finish with six for 63.
