Berkshire, who shared the title with Staffordshire last September having won the Western Division, start the new NCCA championship campaign at home to Devon at Wargrave.

Ten places in the Super 12s stage of the National Counties T20 competition will be up for grabs in today’s final round of group matches.

So far only Cumbria and Northumberland - both in Group One – have made it mathematically certain that they will be involved in the next stage of the competition.

COUNTIES CRICKET Dorset eyes on National Trophy final

dorset cccDorset head coach Paul Lawrence believes today’s National Counties Trophy semi-final against Berkshire will be a good yardstick to assess the progress his side have made this season.

Dorset head to Finchampstead having suffered just one defeat in the 50 overs competition this season – in a high-scoring contest against Cheshire in their final group match – and having beaten an in-form Buckinghamshire by 74 runs in their quarter-final.

COUNTIES CRICKET T20 team news, Sunday June 15

Brothers Rhys and Rhodri Lewis will be on opposing sides when Berkshire take on Wales NC in a National Counties T20 double-header at Wargrave on Sunday.

Last season the brothers were team-mates when Berkshire were joint-winners of the National Counties Championship but Rhodri’s decision to join Wales during the winter means that they will be in the unusual position of playing against each other this weekend.

COUNTIES CRICKET regional T20 team news June 8

Wales NC host Oxfordshire at Panteg buoyed by completing a double over Vitality Blast! holders Gloucestershire in two T20 Showcase Matches at Usk on Monday.

Wales were boosted by the inclusion Billy Root, brother of England batter Joe, along with three more Glamorgan staff players, Callum Nicholls, Henry Hurle and Ben Morris, for those matches. Root will not face Oxfordshire but Nicholls, Hurle and Morris will.
