Devon make an earlier than expected return to Blundell’s School in Tiverton today for their National Counties T20 Trophy double-header opener against Cornwall (1100 and 1430).

The match was scheduled to be played at the County Ground but has been moved to Blundell’s to avoid a clash with today's Great West Run in Exeter.

Eleven counties are in contention for the four remaining places in next month’s National Counties Trophy quarter-finals when the final group matches are played today.

In Group Three Devon will secure a quarter-final place if they can beat already-qualified Berkshire at Blundell’s School, Tiverton.

There are 18 counties still in contention for places in the quarter-finals of this season’s National Counties Trophy ahead of today’s intriguing penultimate round of group matches.

Only Lincolnshire in group one and defending champions Norfolk in group two cannot progress any further although the hopes of a number of other counties, which are currently only mathematical, could be extinguished today.

Former Warwickshire, Derbyshire and Glamorgan all-rounder Graham Wagg will make his seasonal debut for Cornwall against Buckinghamshire at Tring on Sunday in Group Three.

Wagg, a former Shropshire captain, is joined by another former Shropshire man in Xavier Clarke, all-rounder Will MacVicar and debutant Mo Danyaal in the squad for the weekend-double header which also includes Monday’s match against Berkshire at Slough.

Harrison Ward will take charge of Oxfordshire for the first time as they enter the post-Jonny Cater era in Sunday’s National Counties Trophy Group Three match against Cornwall at St Just.

Ward, who is on a white ball contract with Sussex, has been appointed Oxfordshire’s captain in those formats as successor to Cater who has retired after a 14 year career, 10 of them as captain.
