NATIONAL COUNTIES CRICKET Trophy round 2 preview

NCCA-Logo MasterNorthamptonshire batter Charlie Thurston is set to make his first appearance for Bedfordshire in five years in today’s National Counties Trophy group match against Devon at Exeter. 

Thurston, who has yet to appear for Northamptonshire this season, is not required by the senior county this weekend and so he is available for Bedfordshire, for whom he made his debut in 2014.

CRICKET National Counties T20 finals day preview

NCCA-Logo MasterOxfordshire captain Jonny Cater is looking forward to being back in familiar surroundings for National Counties T20 Finals Day at Tring Park today. 

It was at Tring that Oxfordshire won the National Counties Championship last September when they beat Suffolk in the final and they go back there to face Cheshire in the first semi-final on Sunday (10am) with Dorset facing Cambridgeshire in the second match at 1.30pm.

NCCA-Logo MasterCalculators will again be at the ready as places in this season’s National Counties T20 Finals Day are decided today. 

The final round of double-headers in the four groups take place and 11 of the 20 National Counties are still in contention for semi-final places and a trip to Tring Park CC for Finals Day on Sunday May 22.

Smith previously played National Counties cricket for Cornwall but has joined Wales as player/assistant coach this season.
