NCCA-Logo MasterDevon are boosted by the return of skipper Justin Stephens for their free to see home National Counties quarter final clash at home to holders Berkshire at Sidmouth Cricket Club today (1100).

Devon are missing Somerset all-rounder Ned Leonard who took five wickets in the win over Dorset which secured Devon's top spot in Group Two qualifying.

NATIONAL COUNTIES CRICKET Championship preview

NCCA-Logo MasterJosh Lincoln will make his debut for Berkshire in their opening match in the defence of their National Counties Championship title against Wiltshire in Western Division One at Corsham on Sunday July 11. 

The 23-year-old, who plays his club cricket for Slough comes into a Berkshire side that includes his older brother, Dan, but which is missing acting captain Richard Morris and former Middlesex slow left-armer Chris Peploe as they go in search of a record fifth consecutive title.

NATIONAL COUNTIES Wales lead quarter finals race

NCCA-Logo MasterWales lead the race for a place in the National Counties Trophy quarter finals. 

A two wickets victory over Oxfordshire at Banbury last weekend made it three straight wins for Wales and victory over defending champions Berkshire in their final Group Four match at Newport today would secure Wales a place in the last eight for the first time since 2015.

MINOR MATTERS Devon changes for Trophy derby

NCCA-Logo MasterDevon are without pace bowlers Hugo Whitlock (ankle) and Dan Goodey (side strain) for their Group Two derby match against Cornwall at Redruth. 

Batsman James Horler has also been released for club duty with Exmouth in the Devon Knock Out Cup. Into the squad come Ned Leonard, who is on Somerset’s staff, Matt Golding and wicketkeeper/batsman Adam Small. Golding has recovered from a shoulder injury which ruled him out of the defeat by Herefordshire.

MINOR MATTERS Wiltshire steeled by Durham batsman

NCCA-Logo MasterDurham batsman Cameron Steel is in line to make his National Counties debut for Wiltshire in their opening National Counties Trophy local derby against Dorset at Bashley Rydal CC.  

Steel, who has a first-class double century to his name, is currently on loan at Hampshire but, as they have no match on Sunday, he has been included in Wiltshire’s squad for the Group Two match.

MINOR MATTERS National Counties Cricket updates

NCCA-Logo MasterCornwall will have Somerset all-rounder Lewis Goldsworthy back in their ranks for their opening National Counties Trophy match against Dorset at Werrington today (1100). 

Goldsworthy, 20, has been a regular in Somerset’s LV= County Championship side this season but they sit out the current round of matches and so the England Under-19 international is available for duty with his native county.
