Lanson Blues KJMLISKEARD ATHLETIC extended their unbeaten start to the Peninsula Premier league season to 11 games with a hard-earned victory over Launceston last night.

Nick Aplin gave the Blues an 18th minute lead but they had to wait until six minutes from time to increase their advantage, with Max Gilbert curling in a superb free kick.

A PROMISING start ended in disappointment for Ivybridge Town as they suffered their first defeat in eight South West Peninsula League matches.

The match began well enough for Ivybridge with Fletcher Williams shooting them into the lead from a free kick after 15 minutes. The visitors remained on top for the remainder of the first half but failed to find the vital second goal.

Ed Harrison’s 88th minute header clinched victory for 10-man Camelford who moved up to second in the table after a battle royale in the torrential rain at Pennygillam.

Harrison, who had missed a 20th minute penalty, appeared at the near post to glance in a corner to set off wild, wet and windy celebrations in the clubhouse corner.
